Are americans snobs Why are americans so unwilling to help the poor in our counrty and call them lazy?

I am an american but for one thing I do not understand is why Americans are so against helping out the poor and homeless. They ***** about any tax hikes, ***** about wellfair programs to help them out. They make up crap like 'wellfair queen' and rally to take back wellfair programs, cutbacks. The thing that really gets to me is why cant we have socialized healthcare to cover every american. Why are you all so hardened against that. Its in other major industriliazed countrys and for the most part, It works well. Why cant we have it it here. I know it will be expensive to cover 300 million but I am sure we can afford it if we are willing to give into the program to cover it.
