Pasta w/garlic & oil Lacking Flavor. Please Help.?
I made Rigatoni with pure olive oil ( the one for dressings, bread & marinating) loads of garlic but not whole fresh garlic. I used the minced garlic in the jar because I once used fresh garlic and I couldn't get the smell off of my fingers for weeks, I tried everything! I put a pinch of red pepper flakes, salt & pepper & added some fresh broccoli. I have it now in the crockpot to keep it warm because it is for a pot luck today at work. I tasted it and all I taste is olive oil! I am going to run to the store on my lunch to buy something to add some flavor too it, what could I get? Italian seasoning or the zesty italian (good seasons) dressing mix, dried basil or parsley? I cant be anything fresh because I am not going to a grocery store I am going to Target. I did bring some of the water that I boiled the pasta in with me to work, I read it somewhere that I should. I want it to be a little zingy or zesty. I want people to wonder what I put in it. I would have added some crushed croutons but I dont think that would be good with the broccoli. Thanks for reading! :-)
