Constant eye infection?

For almost two months now, both my eyes have had what looks like pink eye on and off. I have been to the optometrist once and my family doctor twice. I have tried two kinds of antibiotic eyedrops along with allergy relieving eyedrops, but the eye infection wont relent. Any ideas what the problem could be? Any recommendations? Sources appreciated.
