Something embarring to have in a briefcase?

Could be a torn photograph or maybe a letter his wife once wrote him. Maybe his ex was an author so he migth have one of her books or first draft copy of the book. His wives wedding dress that she designed and made herself but it was damaged some how and now he takes it every where with him so it wont get totaly ruined.
