I broke my pineapple plant. Please help me?

The other day my new pineapple plant was blown over by the wind, and the unripened small pineapple broke off. If I keep the leaves and shoot alive will it flower another pineapple? Or can I start a new plant with the leaves atop the runt pineapple that broke off?
