Viewfinder on cameras?

Hi, I have recently purchased a fuji finepix s6500fd camera, and after looking through the viewfinder (not the lcd one)have trouble viewing things at a distance, is there a gadget on the market that enlarges the image you see, when I was looking at an image of a static plane at an air show with someone elses camera, (an expensive slr), the plane looked as though it was enlarged, where as in my camera it looked as though it was further away than it actualy was,I know people might say thats the difference in the price of cameras, this is probably true,but is there a magnifier or something to attach to the viewfinder?if not- why not? or is there a device to attach to the lcd viewer to avoid sunlight on the screen?not that this is much of a problem this year, as a waterproof cover would be more practical ---- thanks in advance
